Welcome to Mercury class!

Year 6 is a very special and memorable stage in our pupils’ primary journey. It is a year filled with challenge, excitement and opportunity, as children take on new responsibilities, develop greater independence, and prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Our Year 6 pupils are encouraged to be role models across the school, showing leadership, resilience and kindness. Learning is both rigorous and rewarding – from mastering key skills in English and maths, to exploring rich topics in science, geography and history. Along the way, children enjoy special highlights such as residential trips, sporting events, creative projects, and the much-anticipated Year 6 production and leavers’ celebrations.

Above all, Year 6 is about making lasting memories. We are proud of the way our pupils grow in confidence, rise to new challenges and leave us ready to embrace the next chapter of their education.
